TROUTS

MTROUTS is not the fishing society, nor is it another obtusely named Christian society. Like every decent UTS club, the name it is an acronym, standing for the Theatre Repertoire of UTS (UTS being an acronym or at least abbreviation for the University of Technology Sydney). With that clarified it doesn't seem such an enormous jump to explain that TROUTS in the university Drama Society. Due to the ever increasing number of Union clubs, we have been forced to skew our marketing plan and can no longe offer "an adrenaline filled release from the pressures of uni life" as this is now the jurisdiction of...well most other clubs. What we do offer is the chance to write, direct, perform, manage, light, design and all the other sordid debauchery that goes along with university theatre.

United Nations Society

The United Nations Society's mission is to increase awareness both among the UTS student body and the wider community on issues not only relating to United Nations operations but of international concern. We seek to do this primarily through events on campus however we also take part in events in the Sydney region generally. Each year many members of the society participate in the Asia-Pacific Model United Nations Conference (www.amunc.net). The conference is a great way to improve your public speaking skills, meet new people from universities across Australia and our region and to better understand how the UN operates. We also hold events in conjunction with UN Societies of other Universities in Sydney.
