TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

The following terms and conditions apply to the UTS Union Advantage Program. If there is any conflict between what is set out in these terms and conditions and anything an Advantage Program member has been told by UTS Union staff or its agents, the terms outlined below shall prevail.

Every UTS Union Advantage Program member is responsible for remaining aware of the Terms and Conditions. UTS Union Ltd is in no way responsible or liable for any inaccuracy in the information provided to Advantage Program members concerning the Advantage Program.

The UTS Union may amend the Terms and Conditions of the Advantage Program from time to time. The UTS Union shall use all reasonable methods to advise Advantage Program members of any such changes, but shall not be liable in any way for any failure to do so.

a) When you pick up your 2008 Advantage Program member card you will be required to show a valid UTS Student ID, staff ID or alumni ID card.

b) You must present your your Advantage card to redeem your discount at participating outlets. It is the responsibility of the Advantage Program member to ensure they have their Advantage card at all times in order to access services and benefits. UTS Union may require an Advantage Program member to produce Advantage card at any time while utilising the services or obtaining benefits.

c) By using the Advantage card, the Advantage Program member agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

d) The Advantage Program membership card is valid for use only during the period indicated on the back of the card. All membership cards must also display the members' photo and signature on the back of the card.

e) The Advantage card is not transferable and sharing cards is not allowed. Members found to be breaching this condition will have their card cancelled immediately and must return it to UTS Union Ltd.

f) UTS students, staff and alumni are eligible to join the 2008 UTS Union Advantage Program. This includes all International and domestic students and UTS staff who are employed for the entire membership period. Only UTS students are eligible for the Early Bird offer.

g) In the event of loss or theft of a membership card it is the responsibility of the Advantage Program member to immediately advise the UTS Union in writing to the Marketing, Events & Programs Manager, PO Box 3210, Broadway NSW 2007 or email linda.iacopetta@uts.edu.au. UTS Union will not be liable for misuse of a lost or stolen membership card. In the case of a lost or stolen membership cards, a replacement card fee of $40 will be charged by the UTS Union. The replacement card fee will be waived if a police report or reference number is provided. Each member is limited to one replacement card only during their membership period.

h) UTS Union will not be liable for any Advantage Program merchandise (including the 'Campus Cash' vouchers, 128MB USB and back pack) that is lost, damaged or stolen. Any Advantage Program merchandise (including the 'Campus Cash' vouchers,128MB USB and back pack) that is lost, damaged or stolen cannot be replaced by UTS Union.

i) Advantage Card holder discounts cannot always be claimed in conjunction with other Union specials or discounts.

j) Refund requests must be made in writing within 7 days of fee payment only. Please send refund requests to the Marketing, Events & Programs Manager, PO Box 3210, Broadway NSW 2007 or email linda.iacopetta@uts.edu.au.

k) If an Advantage Program membership payment remains outstanding for 14 days (for example, in the case of dishonoured cheques) UTS Union may cancel the membership.

l) In special circumstances, your Advantage Program member welcome pack can be posted to you, or sent via internal mail to the Kuring-gai campus. Such requests must be made in writing to the Marketing, Events & Programs Manager, PO Box 3210, Broadway NSW 2007 or email linda.iacopetta@uts.edu.au. You will be required to explain why you are unable to pick up your member welcome pack in person and such requests will be reviewed on an individual basis.

m) Each Advantage Program member shall be responsible for advising the UTS Union of any change of member details.  All member details, including member photos, can be submitted via the member only section of the UTS Union website.

n) The UTS Union may withdraw, cancel, or change any of the benefits advertised or offered at any time. The UTS Union will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by the Advantage Program member resulting from such withdrawal, cancellation or change.

o) The UTS Union may suspend or terminate an Advantage Program member's membership for contravention of its rules and regulations or for conduct deemed detrimental to the welfare of the UTS Union.

p) The UTS Union will only use the information provided to it from the Advantage Program member in accordance with its Privacy Policy. q) Many of the products and services offered as part of the UTS Union Advantage Program are products and services of third parties other than UTS Union, including Club VIP discounts and benefits. UTS Union shall not be held liable for any loss or damage in relation to the products or services of third parties. Advantage Program members should make their own enquiries regarding the terms and conditions that apply to products and services offered by third parties.

r) Any disputes arising out of these terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of New South Wales.
