Getting Involved

 

ARE U INTERESTED IN BECOMING A VOLUNTEER @ UTS UNION?

 

As UTS Union is YOUR WORLD - YOUR CAMPUS, we offer a great opportunity for ALL STUDENTS to get involved by volunteering to help us out at fun events, as well as to help YOU out by providing some work experience.

The main areas we need volunteers are:

  • Events promotion - you and other volunteers will get together to help us promote and be apart of our parties, lunch time gigs, special events etc YOU NAME IT! If there is an event on - we need volunteers.
  • Events set up - putting up decorations/signage, moving furniture, setting up registration tables etc 

 

Why volunteer?

  • Volunteering is a great way to gain work experience within all sorts of different career areas - ie Events, Marketing, Public Relations, Customer Service, Team work etc
  • Volunteering is a great way to meet friends! and develop social networks amongst other students doing different degrees at UTS.
  • Volunteering @ UTS Union will be an excellent way to demonstrate to employers your passion, drive, enthusiastic nature! and especially with the reputable brand of UTS Union - great to put on your resume!
  • Volunteering is rewarding. Our current volunteers love the interaction with students and feel well rewarded after a successful event.

 

How do i become a Volunteer? (2 steps)

  1. Simply send us in 100 words or less, why you think you will be great at volunteering at the UTS Union?
  2. Please send your answer, student number, contact number and name to union.activities@uts.edu.au

UTS Union is YOUR organisation. Several opportunities are available for you to have your say and influence what UTS Union offers to students. Through getting involved you can gain valuable experience and skills which will help when moving from University to the workforce.


Other ways to get involved at UTS: Opportunities include getting involved with a club or society, running for Union Board, developing your skills through a short course or having your say on entertainment and activities through the Programs Committee.
