On behalf of UTS Union Ltd, welcome!
University is not only a place for classes, assignments and exams, it is also a place to eat, drink, relax, meet people and network, to share, see live music, work out and keep fit, and a place to pursue our interests. This is because your Union is absolutely dedicated to providing opportunities outside of the lecture hall and believes that the quality of learning is increased through social, cultural and sporting programs.
How does the Union achieve this for you?
Regular Social Events
The Union hosts many regular events on campus such as live music and happy hours, pool comps, shopping trolley bingo and trivia. To get regular updates on Union events on campus sign up to 'What's On' for stuff to do in your study breaks, lunch breaks and meeting places for friends.
Clubs and Societies
Clubs and societies represent an amazing opportunity to get involved in student life on campus, whether you share cultural backgrounds, beliefs, interests, charities, faculty or political aspirations. There are clubs for the arts such as theatre, film, photography and music, there are clubs for computer gamers, engineers, the appreciation of beer and wine and for women who want to network. If you can’t find a club or society for your particular interest then you can start your own!
Sport and Recreation
If you want to keep fit while you are at Uni, you should check out the UTS Fitness Centre that boasts state of the art equipment, 38 fitness classes per week and caters for all fitness levels. There are also many sporting clubs that have regular comps and take their teams to the East Coast Challenge, Australian University Games and Winter games for the skiers! If you are looking for more recreational or leisurely participation there are events for you such as diving, learn to surf getaways and trips to the Blue Mountains.
Volunteers Network
If you would like to help out with Union events, gain valuable experience and expand the skills you can include on your resume, sign up to the volunteers network at the Union Office or email union.activites@uts.edu.au.
